Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and
the earth.
This is one of the most important statements ever made.
Your whole life will hinge on whether or not this is so. If we
are
just accidents in this vast universe, then, not much else about life
matters,
does it? That is why we have so many masscres in our schools
today.
We have a generation many of which believe that man is just a product
of
evolution and that nothing matters, so they are taking people out of
their
misery. Some philosophers have taught just that. In
contrast,
the
United States was founded by people who believed that "God created the
heaven and the earth." They believed that life was sacred.
They believed that "all men are endowed by their Creator with certain
inalienable
rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness."
(The Declaration of Independence, minus the ellipses in some school
books
today.) What you do with this verse will affect the rest of
your life. The fact is that God created you and me, that God left
these Words, and many more, to inform us of that fact, and that
God
has prepared a place for all who accept Him, and that He cares what
happens
to us! This is important stuff! This is the stuff that
could
change your life and make your life worthwhile! It can give you a
purpose in your life that many lack. It can change your idea of
the
value of life.
