Read God's Word through in a Year:
Single
Reading Daily--Genesis 8-10
Dual Readings in God's Word: Old
Testament
and Psalms--Genesis 5-7; Psalms
6-8
Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be
for a
token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Some think "God is dead." Some think God just wound things
up and let it go. Some don't think about God at all, at least
publicly!
But God promised Noah and his descendants (that's all of us! Cain's
descendants
did not survive.) that he would never destroy the whole earth by flood
again. Every time we see a rainbow in the sky, we should be
reminded
of this, and the fact that God is watching over us! He has made a
covenant with us! Personally, a rainbow should be a reminder that
we have an obligation to our creator. After all, about 2000 years
ago (remember our dating system "AD" which is an abbreviation for "anno
domini", which is Latin for "year of the Lord", referring to Jesus) the
greatest event in the history of mankind, after the fall of mankind
into
rebellion against God (sin), was the coming of the Son of God, Jesus
Christ,
the Savior of the world to those who accept Him and believe upon Him
and
confess Him as Savior. So the rainbow reminds me of God's promise
and of His offer of Salvation thru Jesus Christ!
