Read God's Word through in a Year:

Reading Daily--Genesis 31-32
Dual Readings in God's Word: Old
Testament
and Psalms--Genesis 24; Psalms
26-27
Genesis 31:29 It is in the power of my hand to do
you hurt:
but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou
heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
Jacob is being confronted by his father-in-law Laban.
However, God has intervened to protect Jacob. We have a God who
cares
for us in our daily lives. He is there for us. He even
loved
us before we ever loved Him (I John 4:19) and sent His only Son to die
on the cross that we might find forgiveness and salvation, if we only
give
Him our lives. We have been bought with the price of His son's
death
(I Corinthians 6:20, 7:23, II Peter 2:1), and He reaches out to us to
come
to Him and rest in Him (Matthew 11:28) from our labors with sin in our
lives. God made a promise to Jacob back at Bethel, and He is
sticking
to that promise. Our God is faithful to keep His promises and
continually
watches over His own.
